finally! the trailer ride wasn't too long, except for the driver getting me lost. but what can you expect from a guy?

when i arrived, J *momma* ;) backed me off the trailer and i got my first look at my new home. it's a nice looking place, a couple of white barns, and about 5 or 6 paddocks. J led me into mine and showed me around. I have a kinda small paddock but she says it's just for now, and tomorrow they'll open the gate and make it bigger, and then in a few days after i get used to everything they'll let me in with Nanna and Chance. Chance is chestnut colored like me, and Nanna is a bay. they seem nice enough and it will be nice to have other horses to run with again, instead of just talking over the fence. my paddock is big enough to run in circles in, and i have plenty of grass, a big water bucket, and a run-in shed with a hay rack that's kept filled. once i get J to figure out how to post pics i'll have her put one up.
they're already being trained well to give me what i want. J was eating an apple and i walked over to her and rubbed her arm and she gave it to me, then they gave me carrots, and SKITTLES! i love the taste of my name.

i'm comfortable enough to poop, and roll on the ground to get rid of the itches. R (farm owner) is nice and seems like he takes really good care of the farm. after i was in my paddock he started putting a fence post in on the other side of my fence, and he was laughing because i was trying to eat the grass he was digging up. there's electric wire on top of the fence rails but i'm too smart to touch them and know just exactly where i can put my nose on the fence without getting shocked.
they put my fly mask on. that's different....i've never had one before, but its helping with the flys on my face so i guess i'll leave it on and tolerate it (though somehow i don't think i have much choice). They finally left me alone and i spent the afternoon getting used to the new place and getting acquainted with chance and nanna.
tonight they came back and brought me stuff. they put my halter on and led me around for a minute, then gave me grain, which of course i loved - especially the 2 sugar cubes on top! after dinner J started brushing me. i'm not really used to that, and i don't like my feet being messed with so much; but so C (daddy) and i had a conversation. he says i'm to stand still and not try to kick or bite. i didn't like walking in circles and not being able to eat grass, so i think i'll listen to him and do what i'm supposed to do. it'll take some getting used to though. at one point i picked my foot up and cocked it like i might kick but C pushed me so i had to shift my weight onto it. kinda took me by surprise and i don't think it's a good idea to mess with him. he's a little smarter than i thought he was, and i think he's onto my tricks. i don't think he'll try to push me around too much though, and i won't make him.
before they left for the evening J taught me about flyspray. i don't quite know what to think about it, but i let her spray it on me - if it helps great if not oh well. she even sprayed some on her hand and wiped it on my face. they let me run around the paddock too, and watched. i think J liked it - she was sparkling.

i got kinda tired of that after a while though, and settled down before they left. it'll be interesting to see what happens tonight, but i'm safe here. can't wait to see what tomorrow brings......g'night!
